Dueholm Monastery – three buildings filled with history and charm
When you visit Dueholm Monastery, your journey begins in the museum shop – and here, you leave with more than just a ticket. You’re greeted with a smile, a friendly remark, and perhaps a tip about something you simply shouldn’t miss. From here, you continue into the protected main building, originally built by the Knights Hospitaller, and then on to two other charming houses, each with their own stories to tell.
You can follow the development of Nykøbing, explore the monastery’s past as both a holy site and a manor house, see finds from ancient times, learn the story of the market town of Nykøbing, and discover the history of fishing and seafaring in the Limfjord – as well as enjoy a wealth of objects that reveal what life on Mors has been like through the ages. There are also special exhibitions that change regularly – so there’s always something new to explore.
Many visitors are surprised by just how much there is to see. That’s why we recommend setting aside at least 1–2 hours, so you have time to let the history unfold at your own pace.
