Visit the mo-clay pit on your own
You are always welcome to visit the museum's mo-clay pit on your own. It is located opposite the Fossil and Mo-clay Museum. The pit can also be visited outside the museum's opening hours. The easiest way to get to the pit is to follow Skarrehagevej north and turn left after a few hundred metres.
The museum points out that walking in the pit is at your own risk.
A hammer with a flat side, e.g. a mason's hammer or a dull knife are necessary tools to bring if you want to look for fossils. In case of rain, rubber boots are also a good idea.
During the museum's opening hours, it is possible to rent a hammer in the museum shop for DKK 20 per hour.
